Sigmoid Colectomy – Splenic Flexure Mobilization

Establishing the goal of the project; blah blah blah.

To understand the surgical procedure, my partner and I observed multiple sigmoid resections. We took notes during the procedure and discussed them with our performing surgeon to ensure accuracy. Research was done to fully understand the surgical spaces and properly visualize access to the lesser sac via both the transverse mesocolon and gastrocolic ligaments. I referenced Complete Anatomy by Elsevier to help visualize the space.
